Campaign report
Read delivery progress, investigate excluded or failed recipients, and open their conversations.
Use the campaign report to see how far your messages have progressed and why some contacts did not receive them. You can review totals, inspect individual recipients, and open a conversation for follow-up.
Who can do this: the workspace owner or members whose role includes viewing campaigns. Opening a conversation also requires viewing conversations. Changing the campaign requires managing campaigns.
Steps
Open the report
Open Campaigns and select a scheduled or launched campaign. A draft opens the editor instead.
Check delivery progress
Read Delivery report (1), then the processed progress bar (2). Check the status and any banner for a pause or daily-limit wait.
Investigate a recipient
Read Exclusions and delivery issues, then scroll to Recipients. Use the state tabs (1) to narrow the table. Select Open conversation in a row when a conversation is available.
Read the delivery funnel
Each funnel percentage uses Eligible as its total.
| Stage | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Eligible | Recipients that passed the checks when you launched or scheduled the campaign. |
| Sent | Messages with a sent status from WhatsApp, including those that later reached Delivered or Read. |
| Delivered | Messages reported delivered to recipients. |
| Read | Messages with a read status received from WhatsApp. |
| Replied | Recipients with a reply attributed to this campaign. |
Processed counts eligible recipients that are no longer pending or deferred. It includes submissions awaiting a status from Meta, successful sends, failures, and skips during sending. Contacts excluded before launch are left out of processed progress.
The totals below the funnel show Failed, Excluded, and Skipped. Skipped includes contacts excluded before launch as well as recipients skipped during sending, so do not add it to Excluded as a separate audience group.
Exclusions and delivery issues
Exclusions and delivery issues groups skipped recipients by reason, failures by error code, and deferred sends by error code. Reasons include Opted out of marketing, Blocked, No WhatsApp on this number, Missing variable value, Duplicate contact, and Cancelled. Marketing messages also exclude US phone numbers.
The panel explains WhatsApp issues such as a person's marketing limit, a template pause, an account restriction, or a payment problem. Unknown errors show Meta's code so you can share it when asking for help.
No status from Meta means a message was submitted more than 48 hours ago without a status update. It does not prove delivery or failure. A campaign can be Completed while these recipients remain Submitted.
Inspect the recipients table
The table shows Contact, Phone with most digits masked, State, Reason / error, Last update, and Conversation. Use All or a state tab, then Load more when more rows are available.
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Waiting for a send attempt. |
| Submitted | Submitted for sending; awaiting a status from Meta. |
| Sent | WhatsApp reported the message as sent. |
| Delivered | WhatsApp reported delivery. |
| Read | WhatsApp reported that the message was read. |
| Failed | The send failed. Read Reason / error for the issue. |
| Skipped | The contact was excluded or the recipient was skipped during sending. Read the reason. |
| Deferred | Waiting for a later retry after Meta limited marketing messages to this person. The retry waits 24 hours. |
Replied appears beneath a recipient's state; it is a separate marker, not a state tab. Replies are attributed within 72 hours of the send, or submission if no sent status is available, to the most recent campaign submission in that conversation.
Last update uses the latest submission, send, delivery, read, reply, or failure time available. Open conversation appears only when the recipient has a linked conversation.
