Connect WhatsApp
Connect a new number through Meta, understand setup progress, and reconnect or disconnect an account.
Use Connect a new number in Channels to connect a WhatsApp account through Meta's embedded signup. Once setup finishes, Watification opens the account page so you can check its phone numbers.
Before you start
Select the correct workspace. Have access to the Meta business portfolio and WhatsApp account you want to use, and be ready to receive the number's verification code. Open the dashboard over HTTPS and allow Meta's popup.
Who can do this: the workspace owner or members whose role includes viewing and creating channel connections. Reconnecting and syncing require managing channel connections. Disconnecting requires disconnecting channel connections.
If you already use this number in the WhatsApp Business app, follow connect your Business app number and use Connect your WhatsApp Business app number instead.
Connect a new number
Start in Channels
Open Channels and select Connect a new number (1).
Complete Meta's popup
Follow the screens Meta offers:
- Sign in and review the access requested.
- Choose your business portfolio and WhatsApp account, or create them if offered.
- Add the number. Choose how to receive its verification code, then enter the code.
- Review the permissions and select Finish on Meta's success screen.
Wait for Watification to finish
Keep the dashboard open while it secures the connection. When setup succeeds, you see WhatsApp account connected and the account page opens. Open Phone numbers to check the number. Registration normally starts automatically; see number settings if it needs attention.
Understand progress and plan notices
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Preparing… | Wait for setup to open Meta. |
| Complete in Meta… | Finish the steps in Meta's popup. |
| Securing connection… | Keep the dashboard open while completion runs. |
| WhatsApp is not included in this workspace | Ask the workspace owner to review WhatsApp availability for your plan. |
| This workspace has reached its WhatsApp account limit. | Ask the owner to review your plan or an account you no longer need. |
Both connection buttons are disabled while a connection flow is running or the account limit is reached. The account limit depends on your plan.
Reconnect an account
Find the account card
Open Channels. Reconnect appears on accounts with a disconnected, revoked, or error status when you have permission to manage them.
Authorize it again
Select Reconnect and complete Meta's popup for that account. Wait for Watification to open the account page again.
For an interrupted Business app import, follow the recovery instructions in Business app number.
Disconnect an account
Disconnecting stops Watification from sending and receiving messages through this account's phone numbers. Check with your team before continuing. This disconnects the account from your workspace; it does not deregister its numbers with Meta or delete the Meta account.
Open the confirmation
On the account card in Channels, select Disconnect. Check the account named in the dialog.
Confirm the disconnection
Select Disconnect account (1), or Cancel (2) to keep it connected. The disconnected card remains in Channels, with Reconnect available to members who can manage it. A disconnected account no longer uses an account slot.
Troubleshooting
- If Meta is cancelled, fails, or times out, read the error shown in the dashboard. Check Channels for an account that was already connected before starting again.
- If completion is already running, the dashboard retries briefly while the current flow stays open. There is no separate resume control after closing or refreshing the page. If setup remains incomplete, start embedded signup again.
- If the popup reports that the dashboard needs HTTPS, reopen the dashboard at its HTTPS address before connecting.
Next, check the account and find your phone number.
